Load Cell 10kg
10kg Straight Bar Load Cell
This sensor utilizes a "Single Point" design, meaning it can accurately measure weight even if the load is slightly off-center. Inside the aluminum bar, four strain gauges are bonded to the metal and wired into a Wheatstone Bridge. This configuration translates the microscopic bending of the metal into a tiny voltage difference that represents the applied weight.
Why the 10kg Capacity is the Pro Choice:
• Heavy-Duty Versatility: While 1kg or 5kg sensors are great for kitchen use, the 10kg limit allows you to build systems for heavy luggage, bulk inventory, or industrial parts without worrying about over-stressing the sensor.
• Increased Structural Integrity: The aluminum bar in a 10kg model is physically thicker and more rigid, offering better resistance to accidental impacts or "shock loads" compared to lighter versions.
• Standardized Integration: It uses the same 4-wire interface as smaller cells, allowing it to work seamlessly with the HX711 Amplifier and existing Arduino/ESP32 code.
Technical Capabilities:
• Rated Output: Typically 1.0 ± 0.15 mV/V. This means with a 5V supply, the sensor's full-scale signal (at 10kg) is only 5 millivolts. High-gain amplification is essential.
• High Linearity: Designed to maintain a consistent output ratio across the entire 0–10kg range, ensuring your measurements are as accurate for a 200g object as they are for a 9kg one.
• Aviation Grade Aluminum: The material choice ensures that the bar returns to its exact original shape once the weight is removed, preventing "zero-drift."
Installation & Mechanical Setup:
Correct mounting is the difference between a professional scale and a random number generator.
1. The Cantilever Setup: * Bolt the fixed end (the side where the wires come out) to a stable, heavy base.
o Bolt the floating end to your weighing platform.
o Use spacers (or a stack of washers) to ensure a gap exists so the bar can flex freely without hitting the base or platform.
2. Orientation Awareness: Look for an arrow on the side of the bar. This arrow must point downward in the direction of the weight.
3. Cable Protection: The thin signal wires are fragile. Secure them to the fixed base with a zip-tie or glue to prevent "noise" or drift caused by the wires moving during measurement.
Best For:
The 10kg load cell is the gold standard for industrial platform scales, luggage weighing stations, smart storage bins, and automated postal kiosks.
