LM393 Linear Hall Effect Sensor Module
The module is built around the A3144 Hall Effect Sensor and the LM393 Dual Comparator. When a magnet (specifically the correct pole) is brought near the sensor, the magnetic field generates a small voltage within the A3144. The LM393 chip then compares this voltage to a preset threshold to determine whether to trigger a signal.

Why it’s a Motion & Security Essential:
• Non-Contact Sensing: Because it relies on magnetism, it can detect movement through plastic, wood, or glass. This allows you to hide the sensor inside a waterproof enclosure or behind a door frame.
• Dual Output Utility:
o Digital (DOUT): Perfect for "switched" events, like a door being opened or a wheel completing a full rotation. The onboard potentiometer lets you set exactly how close the magnet needs to be to trigger this pin.
o Analog (AOUT): Provides a continuous voltage that changes as the magnet gets closer. This is ideal for measuring the "strength" of a magnet or very fine-tuned positioning.
• High-Speed Counting: Unlike a reed switch (which has moving metal parts that can bounce), this is a solid-state sensor. It can trigger thousands of times per second, making it the primary choice for measuring motor RPM.
• Visual Debugging: The onboard signal LED lights up the moment a magnet is detected, allowing you to calibrate your project without needing a computer.

Technical Capabilities:
• Operating Voltage: Wide range from 2.3V to 5.3V (Native support for Arduino, ESP32, and Raspberry Pi).
• Magnetic Sensitivity: Triggers between 35 and 450 Gauss, which is the strength of a typical small neodymium magnet.
• Built-in Hysteresis: Includes a safety margin of 20 Gauss to prevent the sensor from "flickering" when a magnet is right on the edge of the detection range.

Best For:
The LM393 Hall Effect module is the primary choice for tachometers (RPM counters), magnetic door/window alarms, limit switches for 3D printers, and liquid level sensing (using a floating magnet).
