GY-31 TCS3200 Color Sensor 
The GY-31 uses the TCS3200 chip, which mimics the human eye by breaking down light into its RGB (Red, Green, Blue) components. It is a digital sensor, meaning it translates the "vibrancy" of a color into a frequency—the more of a color it sees, the higher the frequency of the square wave it sends to your microcontroller.

 
Why the "GY-31" is a Project Essential:
• Precision Array: The sensor contains an 8×8 photodiode array. By using 16 photodiodes for each color (Red, Green, Blue, and Clear), it provides high sensitivity and reduces errors caused by inconsistent textures on the object you are scanning.
• Onboard Illumination: The module includes four high-intensity white LEDs. These light up the target object directly, ensuring the sensor gets a clean, bright reflection regardless of whether you're working in a dark room or under office lights.
• Programmable Frequency: You can scale the output frequency (2%, 20%, or 100%) to match the processing speed of your board. This allows even low-power microcontrollers to read high-intensity colors accurately.

 
How the Color Logic Works:
To identify a specific color, you use the control pins to cycle through the filters:
1. Select Red: Read the output frequency.
2. Select Green: Read the output frequency.
3. Select Blue: Read the output frequency.
4. Compare: The color with the highest frequency is the dominant color of the object.
