Square Force Sensitive Resistor (38.1mm)
Like its smaller counterparts, this FSR is a "piezoresistive" device. It consists of two layers of flexible plastic with conductive traces and a specialized polymer. When you press on the square area, the layers are pushed together, creating more electrical contact points and significantly dropping the resistance.

Why the Large Square Format is a Design Essential:
Expanded Coverage: The 38.1mm area is roughly 6 times larger than a standard 15mm circular FSR. This allows it to detect touches or weight even if the pressure isn't perfectly centered.
